How does it work? BzzAgent works to match members up with exclusive trial offers from well known companies with the promise to review the products on their website once the member has recieved and tested it. Often times there is limited space available for each campaign. BzzAgent picks and chooses which members will recieve an invitation to join a campaign and will email you with this invitation. Members should check their emails often to see if they have been invited as many campaigns can fill up in a matter of hours.
How to get picked for a new campaign? From what I've learned, the best way to get started is to complete all the surveys so that BzzAgent can find the ideal products for you to try out. I decided to tackle them all in one go and it took a little over an hour to complete. After completing the surveys I went and created my profile which tells a little bit about myself. Why are these two steps important? Well firstly, being asked certain questions within the survey lets me convey to BzzAgent that, for example, I have no children. This piece of information ensures that I won't be eligible for campaigns that require me to try out children's products such as, diapers, toys, baby food/formula etc. Other tidbits about myself that I've revealed include, my skin sensitivity, skin type, hair color/length, places I shop (eg. Sephoras for make-up) and beauty regimens. Secondly, by filling out your profile and adding a picture, this allows BzzAgent and their campaign companies to review you to see if they'd like you to try their new product.
A company (such a Herbal Essences or Gillete) will contact BzzAgent with a strict list of requirements and demographic traits that they want their testers to meet. For example, one company may require the testers (or BzzAgents) to be female, between 28-32 years old, living in a major metropolitan area such as Toronto or Calgary, with long and fine hair. If you meet their criteria for a particular campaign, you may be invited to join! These criteria change from campaign to campaign so it is important to fill out as much information about yourself as possible.
How easy is it to get chosen for a campaign? I signed up with BzzAgent and completed all surveys and profile information that was offered to me. Within 48 hours, I was invited to join the Herbal Essences Campaign via email. All I had to do was to confirm I wanted to participate. You also have the option to reject a campaign if you feel the product is not right for you. However, I have read that some fellow BzzAgents have never been picked for a campaign since joining or waited several months before an offer came along, so be patient and keep up to date with your profile and surveys.
I must admit that I am truly excited to participate in my first campaign so soon after joining BzzAgent! What am I getting? Herbal Essences is sending me full sized products from their new line, Wild Naturals Rejuvenating Collection! This includes a full sized shampoo (100 mL) and full sized conditioner (mL) plus a full sized Oil Elixar Hair Treatment (85 mL). Also included are mini samples I can pass out to friends and family, plus deeply discounted coupons to hand out too! All of this is sent to my address free of charge!
What's the goal? The goal is to create buzz about new products (hence BzzAgent). All I'm required to do is to try the product out and write a review on whether I liked it or not and provide a picture or two. I get to keep the products free of charge and be one of the first people to try out new products. BzzAgent wants honest opinions so if I don't like the products within a campaign, I can freely write so.
